Freshwater Fishing Adventures in Southeast Alaska

Game Creek Guides offers unforgettable freshwater stream fishing experiences near Hoonah and Icy Strait Point surrounded by the natural beauty of Southeast Alaska.

Whether you’re an experienced angler or simply looking to explore Alaska’s wilderness, our guided trips combine scenic rainforest landscapes, wildlife viewing opportunities, and peaceful catch-and-release fishing in remote streams and rivers.

Explore Untamed Alaska Wilderness

Your adventure begins the moment you leave the dock. We take a scenic drive through the historic village of Hoonah and deep into the wild heart of Chichagof Island — one of the most pristine and bear-dense rainforests in Southeast Alaska.
As the road winds through ancient hemlock and spruce, you’ll scan the treeline for brown bears foraging, watch bald eagles soaring overhead, and soak in jaw-dropping mountain views that feel untouched by time. This isn’t just transportation — it’s the first chapter of an authentic Alaskan wilderness experience.

What makes this part special:

  • True remoteness — We access quiet, off-the-beaten-path streams most tours never reach
  • Frequent wildlife sightings — Prime opportunities to see brown bears, eagles, and other Alaska wildlife in their natural habitat
  • Small guided groups — Maximum 6 guests for a personal, uncrowded experience (unless special requests made to keep larger groups together)
  • Scenic rainforest trails & drives — Beautiful, moderate walking through stunning old-growth forest
  • Perfect for Beginners and Experts Alike — No prior experience needed. Families, kids, and first-time anglers feel right at home, while experienced fly fishermen love the challenge of wild streams full of aggressive trout and salmon
  • Moderate Physical Activity & Terrain — This adventure includes walking/hiking on wild, uneven natural ground — including forest trails, stream banks, rocks, roots, and possibly muddy or slippery sections. You should be in good physical condition and capable of walking 1–2 miles (total) at a comfortable pace with some inclines.

*Not recommended for those with serious mobility issues, recent injuries, or severe balance concerns.
